Welcome to Robla Elementary School, Home of the Mustangs!

My name is Darren Kaff and I am proud to be the principal at Robla Elementary School. I taught for 24 years in the Robla School District and was President of the Robla Education Foundation where we raised thousands of dollars to support teachers in doing activities/projects above and beyond what normal funding supported. I am honored to have a second year as principal where I lead a tremendous staff at Robla Elementary School. I believe that all students are great learners and can achieve success in the classroom. At Robla Elementary we have an amazing team of teachers, support staff, and instructional assistants who go above and beyond to make the classroom an engaging and rewarding place for all students.

This school year the Robla School District will have a continued emphasis on tracking data of all students during the school year to ensure that learning is optimized in the classroom. This year there will be an increased focus on Social Emotional Learning, TWIG Science, and math assessment/instruction. We utilize the Wonders Language Arts, Scott Foresman Math, and Twig Science curriculums to stimulate students' interaction with learning. Our talented teachers also provide additional opportunities for students to connect to school. Our staff also provides after school enrichment activities including sports teams, tutoring, and coding clubs. We are very excited to have our basketball hoops, tetherball poles, volleyball courts, and even a running track on our state of the art playground before Labor Day.

Our staff works hard so we have a positive school culture at Robla Elementary that makes students feel excited to attend school and excited to learn. We are committed to being a role model school that sends positive communication home to families in a text or phone call. We use the district adopted Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) system. Our staff has the highest expectations of our Mustangs which include the following: (1) Be Respectful (2) Be Responsible (3) Really Safe (4) Ready to Learn. Students are rewarded with Golden Tickets for making good choices, working hard, and academic success. We definitely find a way to celebrate ALL Mustangs!

Lastly, our staff understands that in order for students to be successful we need the help of our families. Robla families and communities have a proud tradition of support and dedication to their students’ learning. This school year will be return of many opportunities to help with PTC, volunteer in the classroom, or attend special events that encourage student involvement. You can also join our School Site Council (SSC) and English Learner Advisory Council (ELAC).
